Meeting Minutes – Thursday, June 11, 2009

Branch President, Russell Williams, called the meeting to order at 7:08 p.m. with the following members present: Mary Davis, Martha Cheeves, Sam Key, Gordon Bartels, Russell Williams.

Prayer was offered by Mary Davis.

Secretary's report was distributed and approved.

Treasurer's Report - treasury has not changed since last month plus two memberships. Russell needs to fill out new cards at bank. He will try to do this tomorrow with Sam.

>Report of Officers - Russell reported that he, Hampton, and Debbie attended meeting with Govern9or and that he, Russell, attended Frederick Freedom Fund Banquet. He felt Frederick's banquet was well done.

NEW BUSINESS

Sam Key spoke about the "Freedom Run" sponsored by West Virginia NAACP. They are trying to get African Americans into running to fight obesity. Will take place Oct. 3, 2009. Will start at John Brown's farm, travle to Hareper's Ferry, and then to Shepherd U. Sam would like to get some local runners to participate. He will keep us informed.

Next meeting of NAACP state officers will be June 20th.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:58 p.m.
